• I am getting married this weekend and I have a new job

Quick life update here to explain my lack of posting. I’m getting married and I have a new job and my free time has been sucked away into some big dark void where blog articles don’t exist. It’s true, it has happened to many hobbies and now it happened to me! I’ve mentioned this before but I proposed to an awesome person over a year ago. Back then it seemed so far away but time moves fast and the day is finally here. We’ve spent the last few weeks getting everything finalized and by this time Monday, we’ll be man and wife. It’s pretty awesome and I’m pretty excited to…

    The 30 Day Plank Challenge

Guys, it’s time to get healthy. This blog is about the journey towards early retirement but it’s also about the life you lead while getting there. After all, what good is retiring early if you’re out of shape and feeling crappy? The other day, my future wife popped the big question. She asked me if I wanted to do the 30 day plank challenge. I didn’t really know what that was but since I knew of the exercise, I figure it was worth a shot. You see, we’re getting married this year. The problem is that neither of us are what anyone would call peak fighting shape right now. The…

Golfing Like a Pro – Trying Golf for the First Time in my Life

Let’s play that golf – my first time golfing Worried about your first time golfing? I was! Golf has always been a mystery to me. It’s a game that seemed inaccessible when I was growing up. You needed clubs, balls, special clothing and then you had to pay the course fees too. That’s a lot of cash to spend especially when you’re pretty poor. It seemed so much easier just to buy a basketball and go to a court. Hell, you could even go to the court and use someone else’s basketball. That meant that in my 35 years on this earth, I have never played golf. In truth, I’ve…

If your goal is to know more about some random immigrant on the internet then start there. This second part is all about come over here and chasing that old American dream. In the last episode, I had just left Poland and was ready to start the next chapter in my life which didn’t mean much since I was 10. In this episode, I’m talking about Coming to America. It’s a good movie but it’s also what this post is about. Coming to America…

Lessons learned from growing up in Poland with a little side of communism

I started this blog a while ago but I’ve never had a good introduction. In fact, my about page is really lacking. It’s time to fix that! What follows is the first of a few posts I’ll write to flesh out my about me page. It’ll be a proper introduction to the person behind the blog. In this one, I’ll cover my early years in Poland. I was a wee lad and didn’t understand much but I’ll try my best to remember the important things. The first ten years of my life were spent in Poland. Communism was all the rage back then, at least for the first few years…
